Job Description Summary

The Lead System Designer (LSD) is responsible for delivering technical guidance to the Install base team, ensuring traceability and flow down of requirements, system design and analysis, requirements definition, FMEA, and system verification and validation test procedures for NPI and install base (IB) products. The LSD leads a cross-functional engineering team to deliver the technical content, performance, safety, intellectual property and quality deliverables. Job Description

  • Uses their depth in Technology to provide Systems Design leadership and problem-solving capabilities for Software and hardware programs/release trains as part of the product releases to the customers and their Install Base.

  • Drives and helps team makes the right technical decisions during TDRs

  • Require gaining the product understanding and will need to capture the system needs into requirements and will also be responsible for the architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems from concept to release.

  • Designing, developing, modifying and evaluating hardware/compute solutions for medical systems. determine design approaches and parameters; analyse solutions to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests & evaluate results.

  • Leading the design team and design control process from requirements development, design planning to design transfer,

  • Leading the design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods in the development, verification and validation planning and execution for all releases

  • Developing requirements flow down, architecture/system design and analysis, risk analysis, integration and test, manufacturing, field and customer support including corrective and preventative actions to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Driving the architecture, test strategies, design requirements for the product all the time balancing implementation complexity, risks, manufacturability, serviceability and quality

  • Drive Investigations, CAPA closures and Left right looks. Ensuring we learn from any mistakes and improve adopting the growth mindset.

  • Aware of and comply with the GE Healthcare Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI new product Implementation program milestones

  • As a System/Product design owner you will effectively collaborate with the customer and cross functional engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure that all milestones and deliverables are met. You will have the ability to work with the customer to capture and understand correct and complete requirements that describe the system and communicate these effectively to the engineering team

  • Good knowledge of Linux OS

Education Qualification/Primary Skills

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering in Electrical/Computer Science/Electronics

  • 10+ years Industry experience as an engineer within the appropriate field of study.

  • Experience in design, development of systems & products.

Desirable Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience as LSD (Lead Systems Designer) within engineering environment.

  • Experience in HL7 and Enterprise connectivity systems like EMR
