Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Hyderabad, India

Microsoft DSR is responsible for company-wide information security and compliance, with a strategic focus on information protection, assessment, awareness, governance, and enterprise business continuity.

As part of the Emerging Technologies & Standards team, you will work on securing production code and infrastructure, as well as our engineering systems against threat actors. We are looking to hire a Software Engineer with experience working on highly scalable cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-quality security solutions covering all phases from ideation to production by collaborating across disciplines and organizations.

  • Actively participate in design and code reviews and apply best practices.

  • Use various debugging techniques to identify the root cause and fix issues.

  • Perform live-site/on-call on a rotational basis, conduct postmortems, communicate progress and issues early on and effectively.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 5+ years of engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java OR equivalent.

  • Solid problem-solving skills and understanding of software design and development techniques.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities/mitigations.

  • Able to work independently and also collaborating with peer team members across geographies.

  • Able to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity, multi-task and deliver features against tight deadlines.

  • Motivated, proactive, and results-driven.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in security domain with highly scalable cloud services.

  • Proficient with one of the cloud computing environments like Azure, GCP or AWS.

  • Knowledge of Security Development Lifecycle, security standards and frameworks like NIST, OWASP, etc.

  • Exposure to security protocols and infrastructure components such as OAuth, OIDC, PKI, IRM, EntraID, etc.

  • Experience with Kusto or other big data stores.
