Job Summary: FD Thomas is seeking a Prevailing Wage Specialist whose primary focus will be on compliance, reporting, analyzing, and managing certified payroll for our Corporate Office. We are looking for someone who is great at multitasking and thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about achieving goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws, and regulations for certified payroll

  • Accurately calculate, document, and audit each employee's wages, fringe benefits, and other relevant compensation details

  • Verify and track certified payroll reports, and prevailing wage applicability ensuring they meet government requirements and project specifications for weekly payroll processing

  • Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for certified payroll reporting

  • Keep informed of changes in prevailing wage rates and update payroll systems accordingly

  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports to government agencies within specified deadlines

  • Initiate and maintain new certified payroll jobs in various systems

  • Various tasks assigned by the payroll manager

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

  • 1+ year Certified Payroll experience with a solid understanding of payroll processes

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal skills, and attention to detail to ensure precise payroll calculations and data accuracy

  • Ability to handle a high-volume workload with tight deadlines and multitask

  • Critical thinker & problem-solving capabilities with resolutions in mind

  • Experience & proficient working with Excel, Adobe, and other software programs

  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism

  • Construction Industry and Union Knowledge a plus

  • Certified payroll experience

  • Compliance driven
