We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join a solid team based in Milford, Connecticut. This role primarily revolves around performing bank reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing journal entries. You will also be responsible for assisting with closing the books at month-end.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify the company's bank balance matches our financial records

• Maintain the general ledger to ensure all financial reporting is accurate

• Prepare journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information

• Conduct month-end close procedures to finalize the company's financial activities for the month

• Utilize NetSuite to streamline accounting processes and tasks

• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals

• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards

• Assist in other accounting tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledge of General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries

• Experience assisting with Month End Close processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
