Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Grants Coordinator for the Office of Research within the Dean's Office.This position is responsible for the day-to-day support of all projects, grants, contracts and other restricted accounts and related functions associated with research, sponsored programs, and restricted funds activities for the School of Health Professions. The Grants Coordinator ensures sponsored research activities are in compliance with the policies and procedures of Rutgers University and federal, state, foundation, corporate and other agencies.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Independently coordinates pre-award administration of grants, contracts and other restricted funds for the SHP.
  • Provides grant application guidance to all levels of faculty, administrators and staff.
  • Prepares grant proposal budgets in collaboration with the Principal Investigators (pi s).
  • Submits grant and contract proposals on behalf of investigators and the School to federal, state, foundation, corporate and other sponsors.
  • Liaison with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Grants and Contract Accounting Office (GCA) to ensure applications, Project Accounts, and other related components are processed in a timely manner.
  • Assists pi s with ongoing tracking and maintenance of grant submission documents including but not limited to biosketches and other supporting documents to ensure all documents are updated, compliant, and aligned with the appropriate guidelines.
  • Coordinates grant reporting (e.g. Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) between pre-award and post- award team on post-award activities.
  • In partnership with an SHP Financial Analyst, manages revenue and expenditures for tenure tracked faculty.
  • Works with RU's Accounts Payable to facilitate funding for service providers on research grants.
  • Develops training programs and workshops for faculty in the areas of research administration.
  • Assists in coordinating the School's Research Day, Dean's Intramural Grants Program, and Summer Research Internship.
  • Coordinates the School's Work-In-Progress Seminar Series.
  • Assists in new Research Faculty recruits by coordinating interviews, lectures, and gatherings as well as arranging travel arrangements.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of experience involving research and sponsored programs administration in an academic environment required.

  • Must have strong oral and writing skills, good interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of experience, preferred.
