Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join our team at the Port Arthur facility in Port Arthur, Texas. #HPCP

Responsibilities

  • Resolve incident investigation actions associated with maintenance.

  • Maintenance support and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.

  • Work closely with the Planners and Supervisors to gain knowledge of the planning and scheduling process.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Maintenance and Operations.

  • Follow off-site repairs of critical plant equipment.

  • Provide input to capital improvement projects to ensure maintenance considerations are met.

  • Review instrument and electrical safety standards for accuracy and consistency.

  • Champion the standard maintenance procedure program.

  • Identify training opportunities for crafts.

  • Design and execute minor expense projects utilizing plant processes.

  • Provide optimization and lifecycle planning for key obsolescence issues by monitoring preventative maintenance records that indicate repetitive failure modes.

  • Support unit PHA's, MOC's, PSSR's, LOPA's.

  • Participate in unit turnarounds and shutdowns.

  • Tracks key performance indicators and other metrics for improving maintenance work processes.

  • Supports equipment reliability and preventative maintenance initiatives through ITPM evaluation and optimization.

  • Participate in Bad Actor Process and Root Cause Failure Analysis Program

  • Provide technical support to turnarounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • At least two years of related experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Understanding of safety issues in a manufacturing facility

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Predictive maintenance and condition monitoring experience

  • Experience with Meridium (APM)

  • Experience in SAP

  • Rotating equipment experience that includes pumps, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, etc.
