As an Instock Manager (ISM) within Amazon Fresh Grocery, you'll take on a critical role at the forefront of developing business plans and overseeing supply chain and inventory management. Leading cross-functional initiatives will be second nature as you drive improvements to enhance customer experience and overall cost structures. Your leadership will extend across both Online and In-Store channels.

To be successful in this role, you should feel comfortable using data to influence others and building scalable systems and processes to allow our business to grow. In joining this team, you will have the opportunity to both build and operate in an ambiguous fast-paced environment and will drive initiatives that improve sales, customer experience, and process improvement within retail and operations.

Strong candidates will have knowledge in fundamental business principles and previous retail, grocery, or supply chain experience. The ideal candidate is able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key job responsibilities

A successful Instock Manager will:

  • Lead and oversee the Instock function, including demand planning, ordering, and capacity management, ensuring optimal inventory availability and health.

  • Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve customer experience and overall cost structure of the business

  • Perform complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability

  • Partner with internal teams to develop tools, automation, and process improvements that affect purchasing and vendor management workflows

A day in the life

Note: this is a Hybrid role, requiring an ISM to be on-site at least 3 days/week in one of our Amazon Fresh corporate offices

As an Instock Manager, you'll collaborate closely with top suppliers, internal vendors and other internal strategic partners, to enhance supply chains and under-the-roof operational excellence. The F3G (Fresh Food Fast Grocery) Instock Team at Amazon Fresh Grocery is the driving force behind our supply chain, supporting a significant portion of our product selection. We manage a vast catalog and partner with industry leaders to ensure products are available while optimizing profitability. Our mission is to balance product availability with cost control, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.

Our team provides a seamless and unified shopping experience for customers both online and in-store. We manage a robust catalog of over 10,000 SKUs across a complex sourcing network. This makes our commitment to "Invent & Simplify" critical as we build to scale, ensuring the flawless execution of our supply chain operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of with Excel experience

  • 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $58,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
