Robert Half Tax Accountant - Public in Stamford, Connecticut

Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate who has Public Accounting experience for an exciting opportunity with a growing CPA firm in Stamford, CT. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in public accounting and a comprehensive understanding of standard accounting and tax principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and reconciling client books and records.

  • GL Accounting.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for other team members, as needed.

  • Supporting the Senior Accountants and Partner with projects and tasks when required.

  • Prepare tax returns (individual, partnership, corporations, trusts, etc).

  • Ability to navigate through various accounting systems (tax software CCH Access, Quickbooks, Excel).

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

  • Assisting with financial statement preparations, audit preparations, and liaise with auditors as necessary.

  • Ensuring the company is compliant with all tax regulations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the use of CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and QuickBooks

• Demonstrated skills in using Management System and Microsoft Excel

• In-depth understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Prior experience in Public Accounting Audit, Public Accounting Tax, and Public Accounting

• Ability to work in a professional services environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred, but not required at this time

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is desirable.
