As a Progressive Toolmaker, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by constructing, repairing, and maintaining progressive dies used in metal stamping operations. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality stamped parts while ensuring efficiency and adherence to specifications.

Responsibilities

Tooling Construction: Build, assemble, and adjust progressive dies according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This includes fabricating die components using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment.

Die Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on progressive dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Inspect dies for wear, damage, or defects and make necessary adjustments or replacements to maintain accuracy and functionality.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with progressive dies, such as misalignment, wear, or production defects. Utilize problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Die Testing and Validation: Conduct trial runs and testing of progressive dies to verify functionality, accuracy, and performance. Make adjustments as needed to achieve desired results and ensure consistent production of quality parts.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of die construction, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities. Document changes to designs, tooling configurations, and operating parameters to facilitate future reference and continuous improvement.
